Willow Stream Spa Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn

Situated on 13 beautifully landscaped acres in the heart of California’s wine country, Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn is home to Willow Stream Spa. The resort sits in the 17-mile-long SonomaValley and is bordered by two mountain ranges. The climate is mild throughout the year; average temperatures are between 50-93º in the summer and 36-67º in the winter. The rural valley features hundreds of acres of vineyards and more than 40 wineries. Historic adobes and the Sonoma Mission are nearby. For generations, Sonoma's natural hot springs have been held as a sacred place for healing. Willow Stream Spa boasts a 40,000-square-foot footprint with 30 treatments rooms, a fitness studio, a salon, and pools.

Sonoma’s Willow Stream Spa is one of the few spas in the United States to feature natural thermal mineral waters which flow 1,100 feet directly beneath the Inn at 135 degrees. Special features include a relaxing signature Bathing Ritual, herbal steam room, individual mineral baths, private outdoor cabañas, whirlpools, Watsu treatment pool, Kur rooms, and private couple’s rooms with baths. More than 50 revitalizing and relaxing treatments include aromatherapy, Shiatsu; reflexology, hair and scalp revitalizer, herbal and mud wraps, facials, body scrubs, complete salon services, signature Grape-Seed Body Polish, Couple’s

Wine and Roses, and a complete program of mind-body services. Spa guests are invited to experience the co-ed Bathing Ritual prior and/or following schedule spa treatments: The Bathing Ritual is a self-guided co-ed experience (bathing suits required.) The Bathing Ritual is beneficial on its own or in combination with any of our fabulous spa treatments and is included with spa access. Bathing suits are required.

The signature Bathing Ritual, features an exfoliating shower, two mineral water soaking pools, herbal eucalyptus steam, dry salt sauna, and a rain tunnel. The rain tunnel, which is also fed by our geo-thermal spring is a whimsical way of experiencing the waters. Guests also rave about the dry sauna salt therapy room. The salts are heated and then ground to allow the inhalation of tiny micro-particles of salt, which have high concentrations of negative particles. Over the years, research shows that treatment of negative ions can dramatically increase energy, mental alertness, reduce stress, and provide an enhanced overall sense of wellbeing. The salt particles also help to absorb moisture and alleviate inflammation, making it ideal for those with respiratory issues like asthma.

The Spa offers three tiers of services: Every treatment is sorted into one of three categories to help clients decide what to enjoy during their spa visit.

Relieve treatments facilitate relaxation and rejuvenation. Try the Barefoot Shiatsu massage, in which the therapist uses their feet and body weight to provide firm therapeutic pressure that releases knots.

Restore services are meant to help clients recover from travel, hectic schedules, or an afternoon spent tangled in the Sonoma Valley vines. During the Executive Meltdown, hot stones and warm towels force tension out of the body. It also includes a massage of the scalp, upper body, hands, and feet.

Results treatments include intense, state-of-the-art therapies for cleansing or anti-aging. The Advanced Custom cleanse, for instance, targets fine lines and hyperpigmentation. fairmont.com/sonoma/willow-stream
